Six of the amazing Room 19 children are moving to Room 2 next term. We will miss them, but, it is exciting that we will be getting six new people in our class. Come back after the holidays to meet our new classmates.
This week was busy with swimming and the colour run. We still managed to get a bit of formal learning. We have been learning about the FLOSS spelling rule (double ff, ss, ll, zz, after a short vowel sound in a one syllable word) and made these very tricky snakes that hiss.
We made undersea pictures and explored them with torches. Look what we found....
Except... We used glockenspiels (not enough xylophones for everyone) to make Goldilocks music. Enjoy our concert.
On Thursday morning we looked at a video of the New Brighton kite day and then made our own kites. We crossed our fingers as there was no wind in the morning. Lucky for us, there was a little breeze later in the day and we managed to get most of the kites up and flying.
We had 2 members of the Burnside Cricket Club come a teach us some cricket skills.
We had a turn batting, bowling, catching and throwing, and wicket keeping. Mrs Ward was surprised at how well some of us could hit the ball if we remembered to 'keep your eye on the ball'!
