Fire engines and Felt Boards

For f week we learned about fire trucks. We cut up coloured paper and made our own fire engines and wrote stories about them.

Look at our felt boards, we made fish and cut them out of felt. We also made seaweed and rocks to finish our fishy scene.

Fast Frogs

Look at us drawing frogs. We were fascinated by a video of a person drawing very fast pictures of things that start with the f sound, so we decided to make our own version. Here it is!

Teddies on display

Our teddies are finished and on display. They look terrific.

We have a new board in class - we can use it to make patterns, pictures, numbers and letters. It is amazing what we can do with coloured bottletops!
Here are some of our patterns....

Teddies and Turtles

 This week was T week.

We used pencils to draw the teddies.

We coloured our teddies outside on the concrete to make them look furry. They are nearly finished, we just need to dye the backgrounds. Check in again on next week's post to see the finished pictures.

We played with them in the ocean in our classroom...

Apple Muffins

We made muffins with some of the school apples and then we shared them with Room 18.

All about A!

Ants, albatross, apples and amphibians have all been part of our week learning about the short letter a sound.

We are busy drawing our ants with 3 body parts and 6 legs.
Mr Griffiths brought us some apples off the school tree.  We cut them in half 2 different ways to see what they look like inside. Then we ate them. Yummy!

An albatross family

We have been watching an albatross family with their baby by live cam. We have used chalk and some rulers to make a life size albatross to see how big they are.

... and we have been learning about amphibians. We have some fun yoga and maths songs that have salamanders in them. We learned that salamaders are amphibians, just like frogs.
